Reliable and Compact: Purchase a used Dodge Spirit Engine
The Dodge Spirit was introduced in 1989 and released in 1995. The car was a compact front-drive 5-6 passenger sedan with four doors. The vehicle was assembled at plants in Mexico, Newark and Delaware. Its make was very similar to the design of the Chrysler LeBaron and the Plymouth Acclaim manufactured during the late eighties and early nineties. The car had a large trunk, and was physically comparable to vehicles such as the Ford Tempo and the Honda Accord. Dodge Spirits came with a choice of different types of engines. The standard Spirit engine was a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder. Buyers also had the option to choose a 3.0 liter V6 engine.
The Spirit ES model came with a turbocharged version of the standard Spirit engine. Additionally, between 1993 and 1995, the Dodge Spirit came with the choice of a multipoint fuel injected 2.5 liter engine designed to run on fuel made up of 85% methanol. Between 1991 and 1992, The Chrysler Group LLC produced the Dodge Spirit R/T, a strong, speedy, high-performance vehicle with a comparatively high level of horsepower. The Dodge Spirit was quite popular in the early nineties in both the United States and Mexico. In the United States, it became one of the fastest selling sedans worldwide. Buyers generally used the Dodge Spirit for domestic or family purposes.
Buying a Used Spirit Engine
Today, used spirit engine parts are available on the market for vehicles released from 1990 to 1995. The 2.5 liter 4 cylinder base engine produced 100 horsepower. The turbocharged version of this engine, on the other hand, generated 150 horsepower, rendering it a more powerful engine. The V6 engine registered 141 horsepower, whilst the multipoint fuel injected engine produced 107 horsepower. Released in 1991, the Spirit R/T featured a strong Turbo III engine which produced 224 horsepower- an extremely fast engine for its time. Despite its speed, however, critics still praised the Dodge Spirit for its comfortable ride. The R/T could travel 60 miles per hour in just 5.8 seconds. The Chrysler Group LLC, which manufactures Dodge vehicles, built all R/T cars in Mexico.
Dodge Spirit R/T cars are rare as they were released in very small quantities. These engines may therefore be pricey when compared to other Dodge Spirit engines. Critics, however, have praised the Spirit R/T for its exceptional performance.
All Dodge Spirit engines have also been praised for their fuel efficiency. The V6 engine in particular was valued for its responsiveness and its smooth ride. If one is looking for a reliable family sedan, the Dodge Spirit is an ideal vehicle!
